Community Annaprasan Marked the Initiation of Nutrion Week at Jalpaiguri

Webdesk, TNI Dhupguri, 01^st September, 2017: An innovative step was taken by the Jalpaiguri District Administration for observing the National Nutrition Week throughout the district. Annaprasan was organized for the child crossing 6 months at the Anganwadi Kendras of the district. Such programs were organized at the center of Sakoajhora’s Thakurpat Club Anganwadi Kendra. At least 19 children were given Annaprasan.

The program was initiated by the Sabhadhipati of Jalpaiguri Zilla Parishad Smt. Noor Jahan Begum, ADM Smt. Sumedha Pradhan, District Program officer of ICDS program Mr. Piyush Saha, BDO of Dhupguri Mr. Dipankar Roy and the BMOH Dr. Sabyasachi Maandal. The program had all the required items like Dhak, Folk Music and others like a traditional Annaprasan Ceremony. Apart from the Annaprasan the children were given with new clothes, plates, glass, bowl etc. as gift items.
